My journey to Japan started this morning leaving for the airport at 3:45am EST. I’ll be traveling all day and arrive in Tokyo on the 28th 12am EST, 1pm local time. Once I arrive, I will take some time to sightsee in Tokyo, then I will take a train to Sendai.
This past month I’ve been preparing for my trip from packing and budgeting to praying and preparing my mind for whatever God has planned for me. I spent my last week in the U.S. connecting with friends and spending lots of time with family. This past month has also been filled with people reaching out to support me in prayer and financially. My heart is full of gratitude for every person who has, and will support my missionary journey.
I am full of emotions as I end my time in the U.S. and begin my life in Japan. I am sad to be saying goodbye to my friends and family. And as hard as it is to say goodbye, there are also many reasons for me to have joy.
As I arrive in Tokyo on Monday and make my way to Sendai, I’m excited to meet the Sendai YWAM team that I will be living and growing together in God with, for the next 2 years. I am also looking forward to exploring the city, trying new foods, and learning and practicing the Japanese language. And of course, most importantly, I am excited to step into the mission God has called me to: to show His love to the people of Japan.
Here are my prayer requests as I begin my missionary journey:
- To have a smooth transition to the new life and community that I’ll be a part of.
- For God’s wisdom to guide me as I learn new languages.
- No matter how big or small, God uses me for his glory and that His light continues to shine through me.
- For God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, to ease any anxieties I face.
- God opens my heart, mind, and soul to be ready for new and unexpected experiences.
Once again, thank you to everyone who has reached out to me and has shown me support. Your support is a testament to God’s faithfulness in my life, thank you for being a part of this mission God has set before me.
